Parkhurst Academy is a private Christian school serving students from kindergarten through post-secondary levels. Position Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Substitute Teachers to serve on an as-needed basis. Substitutes ensure continuity of instruction, maintain a safe and respectful classroom environment, and support students academic and spiritual growth when regular teachers are absent. Flexibility and adaptability are key, as substitute assignments may arise on short notice across different grade levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement lesson plans provided by the classroom teacher, ensuring alignment with school curriculum.
- Maintain classroom discipline and foster a Christ-centered learning environment.
- Communicate lesson objectives clearly and check for student understanding.
- Support student learning through encouragement, guidance, and accountability.
- Maintain organization and order in the classroom.
- Follow school policies and procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years or older.
- High school diploma or GED required; college coursework preferred.
- Flexibility to work on an as-needed basis, often on short notice.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Commitment to the Christian faith and mission of Parkhurst Academy.

- Knowledge of educational technology is a plus.
Schedule
- As-needed basis, covering teacher absences.
- During school hours: Monday Friday, 8:00 a.m. 4:00 p.m.
- Flexibility for short-notice assignments preferred.
