Job Title: ITS/TSM&O Engineer
Location: Miami, FL

Position Summary:
As an ITS/TSM&O Engineer, you will work alongside experienced engineers to support the design, development, and implementation of intelligent transportation solutions. You'll assist in preparing plans, conducting field reviews, performing signal and ITS analysis, and learning how technology integrates into modern transportation systems.
Responsibilities:
· Assist in the planning and design of ITS infrastructure such as traffic signals, dynamic message signs, cameras, fiber optic networks, Wrong way driving detection systems, and Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Stations, connected vehicle systems
· Support traffic operations studies and signal timing analysis using Synchro, VISSIM, or similar software
· Develop systems engineering documents such as Concept of Operations (ConOps), PSEMP, and RTVM.
· Help prepare construction documents, plans, and technical specifications for ITS projects
· Develop maps using GIS tools.
· Assist in the preparation of client presentations, client proposals, and staff hour estimates.
· Develop construction cost estimates for ITS, signalization, or lighting projects.
· Conduct field data collection and system inventory reviews
· Coordinate with clients, municipalities, and internal project teams
· Learn applicable standards and codes including FDOT, MUTCD, and NEMA specifications
· Develop Power Design Analysis Reports which include voltage drop calculations, arc flash studies, short circuit analysis.
· Assist in the implementation of renewable energy solutions into transportation projects.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineer or Electrical Engineering
· 2-5 years of relevant experience
· Experience with FDOT, Turnpike, Cities or Municipalities
· Strong interest in traffic technology, smart cities, or transportation systems
· Proficient in Microsoft Office; exposure to AutoCAD, MicroStation, Synchro, or ArcGIS is a plus
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· E.I. certification or working toward obtaining it within 6 months preferred
· IMSA Certifications is preferred.
