Job Description

As a Security Officer - Municipal Patrol in Miami, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will monitor assigned areas through routine patrols, maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents, and support visitors and staff with clear communication and customer service. You will document observations, report concerns, and collaborate with site personnel. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or contractors at a government location by following Allied Universal post orders, security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, parking areas, and perimeter spaces to help to deter unwanted activity, identify security-related concerns, and report conditions that may require attention.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; request assistance from site contacts and/or public emergency services as required by post orders.
  • Monitor access points and perform security-related screening tasks as assigned, including verifying identification, maintaining visitor logs, and directing individuals to appropriate destinations.
  • Complete security-related reports such as incident reports, patrol logs, and shift activity documentation, and communicate observations to supervision and/or site representatives.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have a minimum of 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma and/or GED.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or baton is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
