Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
Location: Hudson, Florida
Position Type: Full-Time | Permanent (Contingent)
Shift: Nights (Rotating Weekends)
Job Summary
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse is responsible for providing comprehensive, high-quality care to critically ill patients. This role requires strong clinical judgment, critical thinking skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute care environment while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for critically ill patients
- Monitor patient conditions and respond promptly to changes in status
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and established protocols
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation, including test results and assessments
- Educate patients and families regarding medications, treatments, and care plans
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Utilize critical thinking and clinical expertise in emergency and high-acuity situations
- Adhere to hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
Required Qualifications
- Active Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license or compact license
- If compact license is held, Florida RN license must be obtained within 60 days of hire
- Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) required
- Minimum 1 year of recent ICU experience required
- Prior acute care nursing experience strongly required
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification
- AHA ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire/transfer
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required within 6 months of hire/transfer
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions
- Basic computer and documentation skills
Preferred / Additional Considerations
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
