Position: Engineering Teach Materials & Process Lab Technician
Location: Palm Bay, FL 32905
Duration: 12 Month Contract to Hire
Schedule: 9/80 schedule
Hourly Rate: 25/hr to 30/hr
Qualifications
- High School Diploma with 6+ years of relevant experience, or Associate’s Degree with 2+ years of experience.
- Proficient in cross-sectioning, polishing, surface preparation, chemical etch, and priming.
- Skilled in MS Office Suite and documenting technical procedures.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills; thrives in a team environment.
- Capable of managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Comfortable working with and around hazardous chemicals in a lab setting.
Responsibilities
- Perform material property testing, failure analysis, and surface preparation.
- Support adhesive bonding, coating systems, and overmolding/potting for cables.
- Conduct metallurgical and electronic component cross-sectioning, including potting, etching, and microscopy.
- Interpret technical drawings per ASME Y14.100 standards.
- Assist internal teams with material selection and evaluation.
- Maintain routine lab operations and ensure safety protocols are followed.

Join a dynamic team supporting Aerospace and Defense programs through hands-on lab work and technical development. You’ll work closely with Materials & Processes engineers to evaluate and test metallic, non-metallic, and composite materials using both destructive and non-destructive techniques.
