We are currently seeking a Butcher to join our Market Team. Attendants will interact with the customer, slice meat/cheeses and prepare meats to fill orders and stock. Greet customers, answer questions about products and complete individual orders.
Key Responsibilities: Cut, trim, and prepare meat products for sale to customers following specific guidelines and standards.- Ensure all meat is stored and displayed under optimal conditions, maintaining compliance with health regulations.- Monitor inventory levels, order stock as needed, and manage waste to optimize the department’s efficiency.- Assist customers with special orders and requests, including providing cooking and preparation advice.- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the meat department, including tools and preparation areas.- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance knowledge of cuts, animal anatomy, and ways to reduce waste.- Adhere to all food safety and quality assurance policies and procedures.
Qualifications: Proven experience as a Butcher or in a similar role within the food industry.- Strong knowledge of meat processing and culinary techniques.- Excellent knife skills and attention to detail.- Ability to lift heavy items and work in a chilled environment.- Effective communication and customer service skills.- Familiarity with food safety and sanitation regulations.- Certification in meat cutting, culinary arts, or a related field is a plus.
