To safely operate a variety of power-driven golf course maintenance equipment to achieve course grooming to standards established by management. To uphold and assure compliance with company and departmental policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
• Properly operates equipment such as: Tractor-lawn mowers, Sand pros Greens mower, etc.
• Mows the greens and tee boxes in their area.
• Changes the water, soap, and towel for each ball washer.
• Moves the markers and cups when necessary.
• Replaces the flag on the pin when necessary.
• Reports any insect or animal damage to the supervisor.
• Responsible for the overall condition of each hole they are assigned.
• Observes and follows all requirements for the safe operation of equipment including the use of prescribed personal protective equipment.
• Checks machinery before using and before storing in the maintenance building. Continued
• Thoroughly cleans each piece of equipment after use insuring that all trash, grass clippings have been washed off to prevent corrosion or harmful buildup of debris.
• Reports any malfunction with machinery to mechanic or supervisor immediately.
• Reports any physical damage to equipment to supervisor and/or mechanic so the damage can be repaired.
• Picks up trash, windfalls or anything that would be out of place affecting the appearance or liability of the golf course.
• Follows all instructions pertaining to the golf course maintenance operation assigned by the supervisor. Education: Must be able to learn and follow instructions for operating equipment, related duties and executing additional responsibilities. Judgement, cooperativeness, discretion, and initiative. Standing, balancing, reaching, feeling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, lifting, and carrying medium loads (up to 50 lbs. to very heavy loads), hearing, seeing, and talking Equipment: various power- driven cutting and grooming machines, riding and walk-behind, motorized carts, gas, various turf maintenance chemicals and various tools. Outdoors: 95*, wet, odors, noise, sun, vibration, fumes, and airborne particulates (dust, pollen)
