POSITION SUMMARY:
The Pharmacy Technician will provide direct, compassionate, and empathetic care to individuals served with behavioral health and/or medical needs; create a positive experience for the customer in each interaction (in person and over the phone); and accurately and professionally perform pharmacy-related functions for and under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED certificate.
- Successful completion of a Pharmacy Technician training course or a minimum of one year of on-the-job training.
- National certification preferred but not required.
- State licensing, as required.
- Ability to enter data into a computer to maintain records.
- Ability to follow oral and written instruction.
- Salary based on experience and education
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Abilities in reaching, bending, talking, sitting, carrying, standing, grasping, fine hand coordination, ability to hear, ability to read and write, and the ability to remain calm under stress.
- Ability to reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to perform light lifting (up to 15 pounds) and repetitious physical activity.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- General climate-controlled health care setting.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Interface with patients in an outpatient and/or acute care inpatient environment.
- Fast paced. Multi-tasking requiring above average time management skills. Team approach.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:
- Prepares prescriptions for dispensing by the pharmacist and fills stock replacements.
- Makes requisitions for drugs and supplies with professional guidance from the pharmacist.
- Orders, receives, and maintains inventory of drugs and chemicals, and ensures their security.
- Helps maintain an orderly, clean environment including cleanliness of pharmacy stock and supplies.
- Enters data into the computer system, recording prescriptions, purchase orders, stock orders, requisitions, and disbursements.
- Under direction of pharmacist, removes unneeded or outdated drugs from stock and prepares for return or disposal.
- Performs general clerical duties for the department.
- The ability to take direction and guidance in a respectful manner from managers and supervisors;
- The ability to follow our code of conduct and to interact in a respectful, professional manner in a teamwork setting.
COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Adheres to all applicable federal, state, local, and company-maintained standards of compliance, ethics, and policies concerned with the administration and delivery of agency services.
- Meets deadlines, requirements, and expectations as established by the supervisor, agency and department.
- Completes administrative functions and data entry timely and accurately.
CUSTOMER SERVICE RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Provides exceptional customer service in all communications and interactions with staff, general public.
- Maintains confidentiality and remains calm under stress.
- Assists staff with support in all areas of functional responsibility in a courteous, supportive manner.
