Job Description: Were seeking an experienced pharmacy technician to join our team at Parrish Medical Center in Titusville, FL. The ideal candidate is someone who works well in a fast-paced team environment, detail-oriented, and willing to assist where necessary. Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assists the pharmacist by entering and/or filling prescriptions for medications for oral, rectal, topical, or injectible use
- Creates medication labels and unit doses medications
- Accurately and efficiently completes data entry of prescriptions
- Demonstrates an ability to calculate figures and amounts relating to dosage calculations when filling various prescriptions ranging from the newborn to the elderly populations
- Maintains inventory of supplies in pharmacy and reorders them accordingly
- Professionally and efficiently interacts via email and telephone with customers, coworkers, and other healthcare professionals
- Makes phone calls on behalf of the pharmacy to insurance companies, healthcare facilities, etc. for the purpose of problem solving and information gathering
- Sells patient prescriptions to patient or patient representative utilizing the point of sale system
- Prepares and processes records and reports including medications and supplies dispensed to patients or customers, computes charges, and either enters them into the computer, or forwards them to accounting/data processing/similar department
Position Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current pharmacy technician licensure in the applicable state(s)
