We're seeking a driven and hospitality-focused Assistant Bar Manager to join our leadership team and help drive operational excellence.

What You’ll Be Doing:
- Be immaculately presented, attentive and proactive with the ability to respond quickly to needs of the guest and restaurant management team.
- To identify training requirements, organize and follow through with “on the job” and theoretical training.
- To assist the beverage team in the building of an efficient department, by taking an active interest in the employees’ welfare, safety and development.
- To assist in the training of all employees, ensuring that they have the necessary skills to perform their duties with the maximum efficiency and in the most productive manner.
- To coach new bartenders, bar backs for the first week, following the training Schedule.
- Supervise bar team, ensuring that the correct standards and methods of service are maintained.
- To conduct and contribute to regular departmental communications meetings.
- To develop the team through leading by example as well as lead high morale and motivation.
- To monitor standards and supply of all restaurant equipment, ensuring the management team is aware of any needs.
- Adhering to cleaning checklists and opening/closing procedures, ensuring that all staff are aware of these and checking back that they have been completed.
- To ensure the bar manager closing duties are carried when manager is absent from floor.
- To control the bar during service, taking orders and issuing bills.
- Support Bar Manager in the delivery and measurement of promotional activities, including staff incentives.
- Oversee the POS system and ensure proper operation in the restaurant by all users with Bar Manager.
- Ensure that in-house control systems/audit requirements are adhered to.
- Understanding relevant H&S legislation and the implications that on the operation of the department.
- Communicating to the team their responsibilities within H&S.
- Ensure a safe workplace by identifying hazards and taking corrective action.
- Awareness of health and safety audit reports and the required action within the restaurant.
- Identify maintenance activities required in order to uphold the required standard.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven leadership skills with a focus on team development and guest satisfaction
- Strong understanding of restaurant operations, including scheduling, and inventory
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
- Ability to move safely in uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
- Ability to tolerate varying conditions of noise level, temperature, and illumination
- Ability to grasp, lift, move, or push goods on cart/truck weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Requires mobility. Sense of smell, taste, touch, and sound. Eye/hand coordination and manual dexterity.
- Remain in stationary position for 8 or more hours throughout work shift
