Location: At any of our offices located in: Red Bank, NJ Little Falls, NJ New York City on a flexible hybrid basis.
Compensation: Competitive Partner-Level Package ($250,000-$750,000+ Base Salary depending on ability to bring a portable book of business) + Benefits + Profit Sharing + Bonuses
About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Senior Tax Attorney or Partner to join our respected and client-focused law firm. This role is ideal for a legal professional with deep expertise in tax law and estate planning, particularly for high net worth individuals and families. You'll be a key advisor in complex tax matters, trust and estate administration, and wealth management strategies-helping clients preserve and grow their legacies.
This is a leadership opportunity for someone who thrives on sophisticated legal work, values long-term client relationships, and enjoys mentoring the next generation of attorneys.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-level legal counsel on tax law, estate planning, and trust administration
- Draft and review legal documents related to estates, trusts, and tax matters
- Advise high net worth clients on tax-efficient wealth management strategies
- Represent clients in tax disputes and negotiations with federal and state authorities
- Conduct in-depth legal research and deliver clear, actionable guidance
- Cultivate strong relationships with clients, financial advisors, and other stakeholders
- Mentor junior attorneys and staff in tax and estate planning best practices
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Active bar admission in NJ and/or NY
- Minimum of 10+ years of experience in tax law and estate planning
- Proven track record working with high net worth individuals and families
- Portable book of business or proven ability to bring in business
- Deep knowledge of federal and state tax regulations and estate laws
- Exceptional analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
