At WECTEC Staffing Services, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Westinghouse Electric Company LLC, we build teams that advance Westinghouse’s clean energy mission. We’re hiring an onsite Engineer level 3 in Juno Beach, FL for a 1 yr. contract assignment (W-2) focused on utility-scale solar, BESS, and power plant operations.
Impact you’ll make
- Act as an extension of the engineering organization—owning decisions, technical analysis, project coordination, and oversight.
- Ensure designs align with project specifications, safety requirements, and long-term performance targets.
- Assist with project management, negotiations, performance tracking, and reporting.
- Travel up to 25% for commissioning support; report to the onsite Manager.
Core responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and manage engineering projects to balance cost, reliability, and performance.
- Potentially supervise engineers and oversee design development, permitting, and compliance for energy infrastructure.
- Perform detailed technical assessments, lead design reviews, and verify compliance for power delivery projects.
- Bridge conceptual design to field execution with best practices across the lifecycle.
Tech stack and tools
- PLC programming with emphasis on Schneider Electric platforms
- Protocols: Modbus, DNP3, and other industrial communications
- Ignition SCADA and HMI development
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or closely related field
- 11+ years of PLC programming experience (Schneider Electric preferred)
- Expert knowledge of Modbus, DNP3, and industrial communication protocols
- Experience developing within the Ignition SCADA platform and building HMIs
- Strong understanding of power systems and utility-scale energy projects
- Proven track record in utility-scale renewable energy or power generation
- Knowledge of BESS control systems, inverters, and energy storage technologies
- Familiarity with grid interconnection requirements and utility standards
- Experience with FAT/SAT testing and commissioning protocols
- Ability to own PPA, LGIA, and OEM testing completion
- NERC CIP cybersecurity awareness preferred

We are committed to transparency and equity in all our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $72.00/hr. to $77.00/hr.
