Position Summary
The Paralegal will support the Legal Department in a variety of legal and administrative tasks, including contract management, regulatory compliance, litigation support, and corporate governance. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and manage contracts, including vendor agreements, leases, and service contracts.
- Assist with corporate governance matters, including maintaining corporate records and preparing board resolutions.
- Support compliance efforts with federal, state, and local regulations applicable to senior living communities.
- Conduct legal research and summarize findings for internal stakeholders.
- Assist in responding to subpoenas, discovery requests, and other litigation-related matters.
- Coordinate with outside counsel and internal departments as needed.
- Maintain legal files and document management systems.
- Track deadlines and ensure timely filings and renewals of licenses and registrations.
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, or related field.
- Paralegal certification from an ABA-approved program preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in healthcare or a regulated industry.
- Healthcare experience preferred; senior living, assisted living, or skilled nursing experience is highly competitive.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
