Genesis Staffing is seeking a skilled Dump Trailer Technician for our client in Arcadia, FL. As a Trailer Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of trailers to ensure they operate safely and efficiently.

Position is temp to hire paying $23.00 - $28.00/hr.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain all systems on semi-trailers.
• Perform preventative maintenance to ensure trailers meet DOT standards.
• Inspect and replace components such as brakes, axles, springs, and lights.
• Repair structural parts like floors, doors, roofs, and body panels.
• Perform tasks related to mud flap brackets and dolly leg assemblies.
• Washing Equipment Replacing and Repairing Straps.
• Greasing equipment & Changing Truck Tires.
• Helping with Ratchets and tarps on trailers.

Required skills and qualifications

• Experience in trailer repair, or equivalent skills in welding, carpentry, and mechanics.
• A high school diploma or GED.
• A valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
• Ability to use a variety of tools and have personal mechanic's tools.
• Proficiency with basic computer skills.
• DOT certification in FHWA inspections and air brakes may be required.
• Experience with MIG and stick welding is a plus.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates ability to follow specific instructions and directions.
• Demonstrate ability to use/operate hand tools, including reading a tape measure and using a hammer.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced team environment, as well as work alone.
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English effectively.
• Must be able to comply with OSHA requirements and standards to wear all applicable PPE properly.
• Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull, maximum lift – 100 lbs.; frequently lift/carry – up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to see within the normal range of vision with or without corrective lenses.
• Must be able to hear running machinery.
• Must be able to use hands, wrists, and fingers repetitively.
• Must have exceptional eye-hand coordination.
• Must regularly be able to reach overhead.
• Must regularly be able to squat, bend, twist, and stand.
• Must be able to walk around regularly using steps occasionally.
• Must have your own tools to perform work as needed based on job.

Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repair on semi-trailers, including repairing mechanical systems (brakes, axles, lights) and structural components (flooring, doors, roofs).

Key duties include preventative maintenance, replacing worn parts, and ensuring compliance with DOT standards, with required skills including welding and electrical repair.

Applicants need a valid driver's license, their own tools, and the ability to perform physical tasks like lifting and bending.
