Job Description

Overview

The SQL Data Analyst plays a primary role in supporting the Property Appraiser of Miami-Dade County’s Office tax roll processing cycle, ensuring that each statutory tax roll event, including certification, TRIM, rollover, and related deliverables, is completed accurately and on time. This position provides critical technical expertise by developing and maintaining SQL queries, stored procedures, and reporting solutions that drive the success of these processes.

In addition to tax roll processing support, the SQL Data Analyst is responsible for advanced SQL development, data analysis, and reporting solutions that enhance the accuracy, integrity, and usability of appraisal data. The SQL Data Analyst works closely with internal development teams, business units, and the CAMA vendor to troubleshoot issues, validate data, and execute solutions.

The position also partners with business units and the vendor to coordinate and lead data cleanup projects, improving the long-term reliability of tax roll and appraisal data across systems. The Tax Roll Manager provides general direction and holds the incumbent responsible for effectively achieving goals and objectives.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a closely related field and three years of professional experience with SQL-based data analysis, stored procedure development, and report creation is required. Relevant work experience can be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Preferences: Candidates with advanced proficiency in T-SQL and relational database concepts are highly desired. Experience with Computer Assisted Mass Appraisal (CAMA) systems or property appraisal data and statutory requirements, along with familiarity with ETL processes and large dataset validation, will be strongly considered. Preferred applicants will also have hands-on experience with reporting and business intelligence tools such as SSRS, Power BI, or Crystal Reports. Strong communication skills for collaborating with technical staff, business units, and external vendors, as well as a proven ability to solve problems and manage multiple priorities, are also preferred.
