Job Description
LOCATION: Robert Boissoneault Oncology Institute, Lecanto/Crystal River, Florida
The Robert Boissoneault Oncology Institute (RBOI) is a physician owned private practice and is recruiting a Board Certified Physicist to join our staff of eight physicians, five physicists, seven dosimetrists, two dedicated in-house linear accelerator engineers, and 3 in-house IT professionals. The position available is for our Lecanto location due to the upcoming retirement of our current physicist who has worked at that location for 20 years.
RBOI has four ACR (American College of Radiology) accredited radiation therapy facilities equipped with 8 Varian linear accelerators, 4 Philips large-bore 16 slice CT scanners, and one Nucletron Flexitron HDR treatment unit. All treatment planning is currently performed in Varian Eclipse coupled with a full Radformation package. Image fusion is performed via MimVista. R&V is Citrix cloud based Mosaiq. RBOI uses a full array of SunNuclear QA products as well as the OmniPro water tank scanning system. All four facilities work in unison via a unified database and a standard set of procedures. Patient load is typically 40-60 patients per day at each facility.
RBOI has two locations in Marion County; one location near downtown Ocala and a second location in southwestern Ocala known as Timber Ridge. We also have a facility in Lecanto (Citrus County) and a facility in The Villages (Lake County). All facilities are within 30 miles of each other.
The ideal candidate would be ABR certified with a license to practice in the state of FL. Applicants in their final year of Medical Physics residency would be considered for the position. For applicants without a state license, Florida has a 2 year physicist in training license available. This is an onsite clinical position. The physicists routinely rotate through each of the 4 centers keeping a fresh set of eyes on clinical patients while being exposed to a wide variety of procedures.
RBOI offers an attractive salary in agreement with the AAPM salary survey and a generous benefits package including 401k, medical/dental/vision insurance. All licensing/certification expenses and appropriate meeting/CE costs are included in the benefits package.
