VDC Engineer
About the Role
An established general contractor in Florida is seeking an Entry-Level VDC Engineer to join a dynamic team and support the integration of digital construction technologies into projects. This role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals passionate about Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) workflows. You will collaborate with project managers, architects, and field teams to create and manage digital models that enhance planning, coordination, and execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in creating and maintaining BIM models using tools like Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD
- Support clash detection and coordination across architectural, structural, and MEP systems
- Help implement 4D (schedule) and 5D (cost) modeling for project planning
- Participate in virtual walkthroughs and presentations for clients and stakeholders
- Provide technical support to field teams for model-based coordination and layout
- Maintain documentation and ensure adherence to VDC standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field
- Familiarity with BIM software (Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret construction drawings
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Passion for technology and innovation in construction
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of ISO 19650 BIM standards
- Exposure to reality capture, drones, or laser scanning technologies
- Internship or academic experience in VDC/BIM workflows
