Job Description
(Metal) Welder
Shift: Monday through Friday; 1st shift; Hours TBD
Pay Rate: $17 to $20/hr. depending on experience
Experience: 2+ Years
Job Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine job requirements
- Select appropriate welding equipment and materials based on project needs
- Set up welding equipment and adjust controls as necessary
- Perform various types of welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding
- Join metal components using heat and chemical bonding processes
- Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments
- Inspect and test welded surfaces and structures to discover flaws
- Maintain equipment and perform minor repairs when needed
- Follow all safety procedures and wear protective equipment as required
- Clean and prepare work areas, tools, and materials
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and on schedule
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
Skills Required:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in welding, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Knowledge of safety practices and procedures in welding operations
- Ability to lift and maneuver heavy equipment and materials
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new welding technologies and methods
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations
- Flexibility to work overtime or different shifts as needed
