Position Summary: ICU Nurse Manager
UF Health Spanish Plaines Hospital is seeking an experienced ICU Nurse Manager to lead our Intensive Care Unit (ICU). This role is ideal for a proven critical care nurse leader with 3–5 years of ICU leadership experience who is passionate about clinical excellence, staff development, and patient safety.
The Nurse Manager (NM) is a registered nurse responsible for the operational, clinical, and leadership oversight of the ICU. Reporting to the Director of Critical Care Services or Director of Medical Surgical Services, the Nurse Manager ensures high-quality patient outcomes, regulatory compliance, and efficient use of resources.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily operations of the Intensive Care Unit, ensuring safe, high-quality critical care nursing
- Provide clinical and administrative leadership to ICU nursing staff
- Coach, mentor, and develop nurses and charge nurses to support professional growth and retention
- Manage staffing, budgeting, and resource utilization to support unit performance
- Drive quality improvement, patient safety, and evidence-based practice initiatives
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements
- Serve as a change leader, implementing process improvements and operational enhancements
- Promote exceptional customer service for patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary partners
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — required
- Active Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license — required
- Minimum 2 years of ICU bedside nursing experience
- Strong clinical judgment, leadership, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- 3–5 years of ICU or Critical Care Nurse Manager leadership experience
- Master’s Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field
- BLS and ACLS certification
- National professional nursing certification (CCRN, NE-BC, or similar)
