We’re hiring a Production Equipment Maintenance Technician to support our manufacturing operations in Fort Lauderdale!
As a Production Equipment Maintenance Technician on our 2nd shift, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and safety of our production machinery and mechanical systems. You’ll troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a wide range of equipment—keeping our manufacturing lines running smoothly and efficiently.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with advanced manufacturing systems in a clean, safety-first environment at FHP Manufacturing, a joint venture between Robert Bosch (Bosch Group) and Carrier. We’re a leader in energy-efficient heating and cooling solutions, producing geothermal and water-source heat pumps right here in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Troubleshoot and maintain mechanical and electrical production equipment, including motors, pumps, fans, conveyors, and more.
- Disassemble machinery to repair or replace broken or worn parts, and adjust mechanical components as needed.
- Perform diagnostics on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Interpret and work from machine assembly drawings, blueprints, schematics, manuals, and verbal instructions.
- Maintain machine records, update documentation, and support preventative maintenance efforts.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with established safety procedures and industry best practices.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, contributing to continuous improvement in quality and efficiency.
Work Schedule:
- 2nd Shift: Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM, with occasional Saturday overtime as required.
- Training: Must be available to train on 1st Shift for approximately the first six weeks.
Basic Qualifications:
- 7+ years of equipment maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 3+ years working with machine drive trains, precision spindles, pneumatic, hydraulic, and fluid systems.
- 3+ years of hands-on troubleshooting and failure analysis of production equipment.
- Strong knowledge of safety protocols and experience using hand tools and shop equipment.
- 2+ years of MS Office experience (Outlook, Excel, etc.).
- High School Diploma or GED.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with machine shop tools including lathes, grinders, milling machines, stamping, and brake presses.
- Familiarity with PLCs, automation controls, and electrical schematics.
- Plumbing, mechanical, and electrical repair skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and schematics.
- Strong initiative and curiosity—proactive in solving problems and learning new systems.
- Comfortable working independently or in a team setting.
- Journeyman machinist level experience is a plus.
