Job DescriptionPosition Overview:
The Assistant Golf Professional will play a vital role in the day-to-day operations of the golf course, ensuring a superior experience for members and guests. This individual will support the Head Golf Professional and other senior staff in delivering high-quality instruction, managing golf operations, maintaining the pro shop, and assisting with events and tournaments. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the game of golf, excellent communication skills, and a desire to advance within the golf industry.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Golf Operations & Customer Service:

Provide exceptional customer service to members, guests, and patrons at the golf course.

Assist with tee time reservations, check-in, and manage the flow of play on the course.

Monitor course conditions and provide timely feedback to the golf course superintendent.

Assist in the daily management of golf cart fleet, club rentals, and other equipment.
2. Golf Instruction:

Teach group and private golf lessons to individuals of all skill levels.

Conduct golf clinics and other training programs.

Assist in the development of junior golf programs and women’s golf clinics.

Provide feedback on swing mechanics, course strategy, and mental aspects of the game.
3. Pro Shop Operations:

Assist with managing the pro shop inventory, including golf clubs, apparel, accessories, and equipment.

Help with merchandising and creating appealing product displays.

Ensure the pro shop is clean, organized, and well-stocked.

Handle cash transactions, member billing, and retail sales.
4. Tournaments & Events:

Assist in organizing and running club tournaments, charity events, and golf outings.

Coordinate tournament registration, scorecards, and other event logistics.

Ensure smooth event execution and a positive experience for participants.
5. Administration & Office Support:

Assist with the creation of promotional materials and marketing for golf programs and events.

Maintain accurate records of lesson schedules, member accounts, and tournament results.

Provide administrative support to the Head Golf Professional as needed.
6. Staff Supervision & Training:

Assist in training and mentoring junior golf staff and outside service attendants.

Help with overseeing daily operations of the golf course during peak times.
Qualifications & Skills:
-
Education: High school diploma required. A degree in Professional Golf Management (PGM) or a related field is preferred.

Experience:
-
Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in a golf operations role, including teaching and customer service.

Experience working in a pro shop and/or assisting with tournaments is a plus.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficient in golf instruction and club fitting.

Knowledge of golf course operations and management.

Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Certifications: PGA Associate or LPGA certification (or in progress) is preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for extended periods.
