Position Overview
The Workers Comp Associate will assist in managing and defending workers' compensation claims, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. This role requires a detailed understanding of litigation, negotiation, and the intricacies of workers' compensation defense.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the management of workers' compensation cases from inception to resolution
- Conduct legal research and prepare legal documents including pleadings, motions, and briefs
- Attend hearings and depositions as necessary
- Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients
- Work closely with clients, insurance adjusters, and medical professionals to gather necessary information
- Maintain accurate case files and documentation
- Stay updated on changes in workers' compensation laws and regulations
Qualifications
- Jurisdiction-specific law degree
- Active bar membership in relevant state
- 1-3 years of experience in workers' compensation defense or related litigation
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities
