Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-semester contract opportunity is available for a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in Pompano Beach, FL, serving a diverse school population. This role involves providing speech and language services across a variety of educational settings, specializing in both regular education and specialized groups such as Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), Pre-Kindergarten (PreK), Intellectual Disabilities (InD), and Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH).
Key qualifications and experience:
- Valid SLP certification/license for school-based practice
- Experience working with children in diverse educational settings, including ASD, PreK, InD, and DHH populations
- Ability to manage varying caseloads ranging from small to large, with flexibility to serve multiple schools if needed
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with educators, families, and support staff
- Competence in conducting assessments, developing individualized plans, and implementing evidence-based interventions
Location:
- Pompano Beach, Florida area
- Placement may include schools with varying caseload sizes (see examples: small (0.2 FTE) to large (up to 4 FTE) caseloads across multiple schools)
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech therapy services tailored to student needs
- Perform comprehensive speech and language evaluations and screenings
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support student progress
- Maintain thorough documentation and comply with district and state regulations
- Support programs serving students with autism, developmental delays, speech/language impairments, and hearing loss
