Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A certified Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with pediatric experience is needed for a one-year contract role in a K-12 school setting located in Homestead, FL. This position offers the possibility of extension and potential permanent placement based on performance and clinic needs.
The role involves providing individual therapy to children aged 2 to 18 years in a pediatric outpatient clinic in South Florida. Caseload primarily consists of clients with mild to moderate communication challenges; medically fragile patients are not included. Therapy will focus on areas such as pragmatics, receptive and expressive language, reading and writing delays, articulation, and support for children with high-functioning autism.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments and evaluations to identify speech and language needs
- Delivering direct individual therapy tailored to each childs specific challenges
- Monitoring progress and adjusting treatment plans accordingly
- Participating in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings to collaborate with educators and families
- Documenting services and maintaining compliance with professional standards and regulatory requirements
Qualifications and experience:
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP - CCC)
- Pediatric speech therapy experience, preferably with K-12 populations
- Completion of Clinical Fellowship Year (SLP - CFY)
- Background working within school settings or pediatric outpatient clinics
