About the Role
PanCare of Florida is seeking a caring, organized, and student-focused School Health Technician to support the health needs of students within Bay County Schools. In this role, you’ll help administer basic medical care, support chronic condition management, and assist with screenings and health-related services that help students feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.

*This position qualifies for semester-based bonuses, prorated according to the hire date.
Expected Hours for this position are Monday-Friday 7:15AM-1:45PM.
What You’ll Do
As a School Health Technician, you will:
- Support and enforce school health policies aligned with safety and student well-being
- Administer medications and maintain accurate documentation
- Provide basic first aid and respond to minor injuries or illnesses
- Support communicable disease protocols and student health monitoring
- Notify appropriate contacts(PanCare nurse, guardian, principal) when a student requires additional medical attention
- Conduct screening and prevention tasks such as lice checks and education
- Assist with State-required student screenings including hearing, vision, scoliosis, BMI, and follow-up documentation
- Perform CPR/AED if needed
- Assist with medical procedures with RN delegation and training, such as:
- Blood glucose monitoring and insulin administration
- Catheterization monitoring
- Enteral feedings
- Maintain and track health room supplies and equipment
- Communicate with parents, school staff, and PanCare clinical team to support continuity of care
- Ensure confidentiality and compliance with district and PanCare policies
- Perform documentation and reporting in accordance with protocols
- Support additional duties in coordination with Florida Department of Health guidelines and school needs
Some non-traditional hours may be required based on school needs.

Required Skills & Abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain medical confidentiality
- Proficiency in administering medications and basic first aid
- Ability to organize and maintain accurate student health records
- Comfortable using computers, documentation systems, and office equipment
- Strong critical thinking, prioritization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to remain calm during medical situations or high-stress moments
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required
- Current BLS Certification and First Aid preferred
- Must pass a Level 2 fingerprint background check (state + federal clearance required)
- Experience in a healthcare setting (clinic, doctor’s office, or hospital) preferred
- Experience working with children or in a school setting is a plus
- Experience with documentation or health-related administrative tasks preferred
Physical Requirements
This role may require:
- Standing, walking, bending, or kneeling for periods at a time
- Occasional lifting of medical equipment or assisting students (up to 25 lbs.)
- Dexterity to administer medication and operate medical supplies
- Emotional stability to remain calm and supportive in medical or urgent situations
