Position Summary
We are seeking a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Allergy & Asthma team. The LPN will play a critical role in supporting providers, administering allergy immunotherapy, assisting with clinical procedures, and ensuring an exceptional patient experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Duties
- Administer subcutaneous allergy immunotherapy injections per physician orders and established protocols
- Monitor patients post-injection for adverse reactions and respond appropriately under provider supervision
- Perform patient intake, vital signs, and clinical documentation in the EMR
- Assist with allergy skin testing, spirometry, and other in-office procedures
- Prepare exam rooms, equipment, and supplies for patient visits
- Maintain accurate medication and immunotherapy records
- Patient Care & Education
- Educate patients on allergy treatment plans, injection schedules, and safety precautions
- Reinforce provider instructions and answer patient questions within scope of practice
- Provide compassionate, attentive care to pediatric and adult patients
- Safety & Compliance
- Follow all infection control, OSHA, and HIPAA regulations
- Adhere to allergy immunotherapy safety protocols and emergency procedures
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked clinical environment
- Administrative Support
- Assist with scheduling, phone triage, and coordination of care as needed
- Communicate effectively with providers, medical assistants, and front desk staff
Qualifications Required:
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of [State]
- Active BLS/CPR certification
- Strong clinical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred:
- Previous experience in allergy, ENT, pulmonology, pediatrics, or outpatient specialty care
- Experience administering injections or immunotherapy
- Familiarity with EMR systems
