Star Equipment Services is looking for a Service Writer to join our team. We are a growing business that rewards hard work and technical expertise. We need a detail-oriented professional who understands the "ins and outs" of shop operations and can keep our workflow organized from the moment a machine arrives until the final payment is collected.
What We’re Looking For
This isn't just a front-desk job; it’s the engine that drives our shop’s productivity. To be a great fit, you must have:

Bilingual Fluency: Must be able to speak, read, and write in both English and Spanish fluently. You will be the primary point of contact for our Spanish-speaking clientele and must be able to explain technical equipment repairs clearly in both languages.

Industry Experience: Prior experience in a shop or service department (equipment, fleet, or automotive) is required. You should be comfortable discussing repairs and maintenance with both technicians and customers.

Tech Savviness: You must be comfortable using custom shop management software to track jobs, write invoices, and organize daily workflows.
Your Day-to-Day
As our Service Writer, you are the heart of our shop’s operations. Your responsibilities include:

Workflow Coordination: Using our custom software to open work orders, assign tasks, and ensure the shop stay on schedule.

Customer Liaison: Calling customers to provide status updates, explain repair needs, and gain approval for estimates.

Invoicing & Payments: Writing accurate, detailed invoices based on technician notes and processing customer payments.

Administrative Accuracy: Managing purchasing for parts, handling collections, and ensuring all documentation is filed correctly.
The Details

Education: High School Degree or GED.

MUST speak fluent spanish

Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a shop environment or service writing role.
