Maintenance Technician
Come join us at Lourdes Noreen-McKeen Residence! A Faith-Based, Nonprofit, Short-Term Rehabilitation and Skilled Geriatric Care facility sponsored by the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm, we've served the community since 1960. We are seeking to hire a Maintenance Technician.
- $17 to $18 per hour based on skills and experience.
Maintenance Tech Qualifications:
- High School or vocational school graduate or equivalent.
- Three years experience in building maintenance which must include plumbing and electrical experience.
- Courses in heating, ventilation, air conditioning, electrical, carpentry, drywall or building trades preferred.
- Demonstrated independent contracting experience in general repairs considered.
- Must be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner.
- Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
- May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
Maintenance Tech Job Summary:
- Assure that maintenance schedules are followed at all times.
- Perform routine maintenance including plumbing, plastering, electrical, carpentry, mechanical, painting, etc.
- Maintain equipment in laundry, kitchen, boiler rooms, and individual air conditioners.
- Perform unscheduled maintenance as requested.
- May be required to perform the duties of a Security Guard on a temporary or as needed basis.
- As scheduled, comply with on-call maintenance schedule for response to call 24 hours a day.

Maintenance Tech Work Conditions:
- Works in all areas of the facility.
- Is subject to frequent interruptions and may need to reschedule maintenance activities.
- Is involved with residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc.
- Is subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, personnel, and visitors.
- Works beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holiday, as well as in other positions as needed.
- Is subject to call back during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.).
- May be required to work in cramped spaces and in adverse weather conditions.
