Job Description

AWS/CES is looking for several Sheet Metal Mechanics for our Aviation client.

  • Location: Port St. Lucie, FL
  • Pay rate: $35-$40/hour (Depending on Experience)
  • Temp-to-Perm position

Sheet Metal Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, modifying, and integrating components into major assemblies. You will be involved in activities like assembly, installation, and repairing of sheet metal, composite and products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, modify, install, and fabricate aircraft sheet metal and composite components.
  • Rework and install complex structural assemblies in line with engineering standards.
  • Operate precision measuring tools including micrometers, calipers, ball gauges, and other calibrated devices.
  • Carry out inspections and component installations with accuracy and thorough documentation.
  • Interpret and work from MES planning, engineering drawings, blueprints, manufacturing specs, and procedures.
  • Follow all quality and safety procedures, written and verbal, ensuring compliance at every step.
  • Identify and report material or equipment defects and damages.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
  • Perform visual and functional inspections to verify compliance with aircraft requirements and tolerances.
  • Apply a working knowledge of withholding tags and repair processes (with supervision).
  • Use basic precision drilling and fastener installation techniques.
  • Adhere to all company policies and safety protocols.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 + years sheet‑metal mechanic experience in manufacturing or MRO.
  • High‑school diploma / GED (technical coursework a plus).
  • Strong understanding of non-conformance tags and ability to perform repairs with supervision.
  • Knowledge of structural repair and assembly techniques and procedures.
  • Ability to work safely and comfortably with repetitive physical activity: lifting, bending, climbing, stooping, standing for extended periods, and working overhead.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
