We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive prenatal, labor, delivery, postpartum, and gynecological care to diverse patient populations. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments including medical history review, physical examinations, and vital signs monitoring.
- Perform obstetric and gynecological procedures such as suturing, speculum exams, and specimen collection/processing.
- Manage labor and delivery processes, including fetal monitoring, pain management, and assisting with childbirth.
- Administer medications and injections safely while following HIPAA guidelines for patient privacy.
- Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems for accurate documentation of medical records, care plans, CPT coding, ICD coding, and medical terminology.
- Provide primary care services including family planning counseling, contraception management, and outpatient follow-up.
- Conduct sonography as needed for fetal assessments and anatomy evaluations.
- Support inpatient care when required, including NICU experience for neonatal stabilization or transfer procedures.
- Assist with discharge planning by educating patients on postpartum care, medication administration, and follow-up appointments.
- Maintain compliance with NCQA standards and hospital protocols while ensuring patient safety during all procedures.
Qualifications
- Valid certification as a Nurse Midwife from an accredited program with current licensure in the state of practice.
- Proven experience in hospital settings with OB/Gyn services; NICU experience is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in suturing techniques, IV insertion, venipuncture, specimen collection/processing, and administering injections.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, obstetrics/gynecology (Ob/Gyn), and medical terminology.
- Experience with EMR/EHR systems including CPT coding and ICD coding for accurate billing and documentation.
- Familiarity with inpatient/outpatient care workflows along with acute care procedures.
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to perform physical examinations and patient assessments confidently.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of sensitive medical information.
