Systems Administrator IV Description

As we continue to expand, we are seeking a skilled Linux System Administrator (Level 4) to join our dynamic team of Beasts.
As a Beast Code Systems Administrator, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust Linux-based infrastructure as well as engineering workstations to support our cutting-edge products and services. You’ll collaborate with talented professionals to solve complex problems, drive automation, and ensure peak system performance and security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and manage Linux server environments (on-premises and cloud-based) to support development, production, and internal business systems.
- Design, configure, and support Linux-based engineering workstations.
- Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex system and network issues.
- Implement and maintain security best practices, including vulnerability management, patching, and compliance monitoring.
- Monitor system performance and proactively optimize infrastructure for scalability, reliability, and efficiency.
- Support the workforce by responding to IT related service desk tickets
- Collaborate with DevOps, engineering, and IT teams to support CI/CD pipelines and product deployments.
- Document procedures, configurations, and system changes to ensure knowledge sharing and audit readiness.

The Systems Administrators are the backbone of the business. Working daily to ensure all technical services and tools are available to keep the company running. Thus, we need you to carry these specific skills in your toolbelt:
Qualifications:
- Strong expertise with major Linux distributions (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL).
- Proficiency in shell scripting and automation tools.
- Experience with virtualization, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code.
- Excellent troubleshooting, diagnosis, and analytical skills.
- Ability to configure/manage virtual machines and cloud services.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- CompTIA Sec+
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Pay Bands:
Systems Administrator I: $60,400.00 - $75,800.00
Systems Administrator II: $74,500.00 - $94,600.00
Systems Administrator III: $93,200.00 - $116,200.00
Systems Administrator IV: $111,700.00 - $137,200.00
Systems Administrator I
Work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Typically requires 0-2 years of related experience.
Systems Administrator II
Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Typically requires 2-4 years of related experience.
Systems Administrator III
Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Typically requires 4-7 years of related experience.
Systems Administrator IV
Work is highly independent. May assume a team lead role of the work group. A specialist on complex technical and business matters. Typically requires 7+ years of related experience.
Other Requirements:
- Due to the nature of our work, it is mandatory that you are a U.S. Citizen and able to comply with Government regulations
- Successfully complete background check and maintain a valid USA driver’s license
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
- Beast Code is a drug free work environment using mandatory pre-employment drug testing and random drug testing as per all applicable laws
- Ability to work in office at our headquarters (hybrid schedule if desired)
