Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary Range: $124,284 – $161,570 annually (depending on experience)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join our Neurology team. This role focuses on providing advanced care for patients with complex neurological conditions in both inpatient and outpatient acute care settings. You will work closely with neurologists and the broader care team to assess, diagnose, and manage patients experiencing acute neurological events, including stroke, seizures, neurodegenerative conditions, and more.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform neurological assessments, histories, and physical exams on acute and critically ill patients

Assist in the diagnosis and management of stroke, TIA, epilepsy, migraines, and other acute neurologic conditions

Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests including neuroimaging, EEGs, and labs

Initiate and adjust treatment plans in collaboration with attending neurologists

Prescribe medications including controlled substances within scope of privileges

Provide education to patients and families regarding diagnosis, care plans, and discharge instructions

Participate in inpatient rounding, consultations, and coordination of care

Respond to acute neurologic consults and participate in hospital stroke alerts, when applicable

Document all care provided in the EMR accurately and timely

Participate in call coverage or weekend rotations as needed
Qualifications:

Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing
-
Certified Nurse Practitioner with Acute Care specialty (ACNP)

Licensure as an APRN in [Insert State]

National board certification (ANCC or AACN)

DEA license required (or eligibility)

BLS and ACLS required

Neurology or neurocritical care experience preferred but not required
