Job Description

We are a machining-focused manufacturing company seeking an experienced Senior CAM Programmer to support and optimize CNC production. This role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving CNC programs for advanced multi-function machining equipment. The ideal candidate will work closely with shop personnel to ensure consistent quality, efficient throughput, and reliable machining processes.

Job Type: Full-Time
Pay Rate: $36–$40 per hour (based on experience)

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, modify, and maintain CNC programs for multi-axis turning and milling centers using SolidWorks-based CAM software (CAMWorks preferred).

  • Perform independent simulation and verification using external software to ensure proper machine motion, tool clearances, and process integrity before release to production.

  • Select tooling and establish optimal cutting parameters (feeds and speeds) for various metals, including aluminum, copper, stainless steel, titanium, and cold-rolled steel.

  • Design and communicate workholding and fixture concepts to support safe, repeatable, and efficient machining.

  • Collaborate with machinists and shop personnel to troubleshoot issues, update programs, and improve cycle times, tool life, and overall consistency.

  • Maintain standardized programming methods through tool libraries, program structure, and clear documentation.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum 5 years of CNC programming experience in a production or job shop environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced experience with SolidWorks-integrated CAM software (CAMWorks strongly preferred).

  • Hands-on programming experience with multi-axis CNC mills and lathes, including mill/turn or other multi-tasking machines.

Additional Information

  • Full-time, long-term opportunity.

  • Competitive hourly pay based on experience.

  • Opportunity to work with modern equipment in a collaborative manufacturing environment.
