Job Description

The primary objective of the Director of Learning & Development is to elevate the skillset of all team members, fostering deeper engagement that enhances cultural, service, and financial outcomes. This role requires strong leadership competencies, deep emotional intelligence, and the ability to create a strategic framework to enhance business performance and service excellence. This role is critical in developing talent, ensuring ongoing professional growth, and maintaining a competitive edge in an evolving industry.

The Director of Learning & Development will design and execute a robust learning strategy that enhances operational efficiency, strengthens team engagement and retention, and ensures alignment with the company's broader objectives. This leader will develop structured onboarding and leadership development programs while overseeing a small team of learning and development professionals. This role will be based out of the Advenir Azora Home Office located in Aventura, FL.

Key Responsibilities:

A. Develop and Deploy a Company Wide Learning Strategy

  1. Design and deploy a strategic learning framework encompassing leasing, maintenance, operation, systems, culture, and leadership development.
  2. Establish an onboarding experience that accelerates new hire effectiveness and retention. The onboarding experience should be automated and yield an 85%, 90-day retention rate – and growing team member satisfaction based on the bi-annual feedback survey.
  3. Implement and manage learning technologies, including Learning Management Systems (LMS), to enhance training delivery and tracking for all training operations in the company including those focused on maintenance, safety, leasing, operations, systems, etc.
  4. Publish training compliance scores monthly with an annual overview. This will feed into Advenir Azora's strategy map.
  5. Develop creative training solutions within budget constraints, leveraging in-person, web-based, and virtual reality training.
  6. Embeds learning into daily operations and cultivates a learning-focused culture.
  7. Execute additional projects and other duties and responsibilities as assigned within agreed-upon deadlines.

B. Develop and present the Advenir Azora Living story and core values through a dynamic, live bi-weekly welcome online seminar, fostering brand recognition and enthusiasm among team members. Aligns the brand with service delivery.

  1. Define and communicate service expectations aligned with the company’s brand identity.
  2. Establish training programs and accountability measures to ensure service excellence.

C. Leadership & Team Development

  1. Champions a culture of innovation, creativity, and personalized growth – measured by improvement in Advenir’s engagement score, improvement in short and long-term retention, and successful promotions.
  2. Lead by example, demonstrating a commitment to learning and professional growth.
  3. Oversee the management and development of a team of trainers specializing in soft and hard skills, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  4. Collaborate with department leaders to assess training needs and develop tailored programs.
  5. Cultivate a learning-focused culture that integrates training into daily operations.
  6. Advise senior leadership on best practices for talent development and organizational learning.
  7. Support managers in identifying learning opportunities and addressing team-specific training needs.

D. Measure Training Effectiveness and Performance through Advenir Azora's scorecard and related key performance indicators. (KPIs)

  1. Foster high-performance teams by setting high expectations and ensuring training clearly illustrates expectations while focusing on improvements in existing KPI’s to measure impact..
  2. Assess training effectiveness, making data-driven improvements to enhance learning outcomes based on existing KPI’s.
  3. Monitor industry benchmarks and emerging trends to refine training strategies.

E. Partner with COO and designees to develop service delivery expectations based on the brand and core values and measurements to define success and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in Learning & Development, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • Proven leadership experience in multifamily real estate, hospitality, or a similar service-oriented industry preferred.
  • Strong history of designing and implementing leadership development programs.
  • Experience managing training teams, with a focus on leasing and operational systems training.
  • Deep understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design, and training methodologies.
  • Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and digital learning tools. Exceptional communication and influence skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels. Strong analytical mindset with the ability to measure and report on training effectiveness.
