Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Project Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of commercial doors and hardware, Division 8 specifications, and proficiency in Comsense software. This role requires a strong leader who can manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensure timely completion, and maintain high standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of commercial door and hardware projects from inception to completion
- Coordinate with clients, architects, contractors, and internal teams to ensure project requirements are met
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource allocations
- Conduct site visits to assess project progress and address any issues or concerns
- Prepare and review project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, and change orders
- Utilize Comsense software for project management, estimating, and documentation
- Ensure compliance with Division 8 specifications and industry standards
- Manage project risks and develop mitigation strategies
- Oversee the procurement and delivery of materials and equipment
- Collaborate with the sales team to provide technical support and expertise during the bidding process
- Monitor project performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Mentor and guide junior team members in project management best practices
QualificationsRequired:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, specifically in commercial doors and hardware
- In-depth knowledge of Division 8 specifications and products
- Proficiency in Comsense software
- Strong understanding of building codes, ADA requirements, and fire and life safety regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Preferred:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Door and Hardware Institute (DHI) certifications (e.g., AHC, CDC, EHC)
- Experience with AutoCAD or other CAD software
- Knowledge of sustainable building practices and LEED certification requirements
