Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Medical Payment Poster. In this role, you will be responsible for processing and recording Insurance and patients' payments accurately and efficiently. You will work closely with the entire RCM team to maintain accurate Account Receivable and contribute to the financial health of our practice.
Responsibilities:
- Process all incoming payments, including cash, checks, credit cards, and electronic payments.
- Accurately post payments to Account Receivable in the practice management system.
- Balance batches of payments and reconcile deposits daily.
- Research and resolve discrepancies in payment postings.
- Apply adjustments to patient accounts as appropriate.
- Prepare and submit daily/weekly/monthly reports on payment activity as directed by management.
- Communicate effectively with other members of the team.
- Maintain a positive and collaborative working environment with other team members.
- Follow established company policies and procedures.
- Abides by HIPAA Policy.
- Other Duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in medical billing field required.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to learn new software and procedures quickly.
