Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Planner

Overview:
This role is essential to driving operational efficiency and equipment reliability through strategic maintenance planning and coordination. You'll work closely with maintenance teams, engineers, and production to ensure that all scheduled tasks are executed safely, on time, and with the right resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed job plans for maintenance work, including labor estimates, tools, materials, and safety requirements.
- Scope work in the field to confirm task requirements and identify any special services needed (e.g., welding, rigging, machining).
- Troubleshoot facility and process equipment issues alongside technicians and engineers.
- Review and convert incoming maintenance requests into actionable job plans and prioritize based on operational needs.
- Schedule work activities in coordination with production and maintenance teams to minimize downtime.
- Prepare and attach technical documentation (drawings, schematics, manuals) to job plans.
- Requisition and stage materials, tools, and contracted services ahead of scheduled maintenance.
- Maintain accurate records in the CMMS system regarding job plans, material use, equipment history, and work status.
- Support internal compliance and safety standards across all maintenance activities.
- Participate in preventive maintenance optimization, continuous improvement projects, and shutdown or capital project planning.
- Conduct periodic facility walkthroughs to identify emerging maintenance needs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical certification preferred.
- At least 3 years of industrial maintenance experience, with 2+ years in a planning or scheduling role, ideally within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to interpret P&IDs, schematics, loop diagrams, and equipment blueprints.
- Proficiency in CMMS systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Strong safety mindset and attention to detail.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) or similar methodologies.
- Familiarity with shutdown/turnaround planning or capital equipment projects.
- Working knowledge of root cause analysis (RCA) and key maintenance metrics.
