Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled, and experienced Manager of Construction for capital improvement projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in construction management, with expertise in managing budgets, schedules, and contractors to deliver high-quality results. This role requires a strong understanding of construction processes, project management principles, and the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management:
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee all phases of capital improvement projects.
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, and progress reports.
- Supervise and manage contractors, and subcontractors.
- Provide guidance and support to ensure adherence to project goals and company standards.
- Work closely with property owners, tenants, and internal departments to define project requirements and expectations.
- Facilitate regular meetings and communication with stakeholders to address project updates and resolve issues.
- Negotiate contracts, bids, and change orders to achieve cost-effective solutions.
- Ensure all projects comply with local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and quality of work.
- Address construction issues promptly to minimize delays and risks.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in construction management.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working with commercial properties is required.
Work Environment:
- Office-based with frequent visits to construction sites.
- Must be able to travel to various project locations as needed.
