Maître d’ – Job Description
The Maître d’ is responsible for overseeing the guest arrival, seating, and overall dining room experience at SEIA. This role ensures the room operates with precision, warmth, and balance while maintaining SEIA’s service standards across both the Restaurant and the Club. The Maître d’ acts as a visible leader on the floor, supporting hosts, captains, and FOH leadership to deliver a seamless and elevated guest experience.
Your Responsibilities:
• Oversee guest arrivals, reservations, and seating flow to ensure smooth pacing and optimal room balance throughout service.
• Maintain a strong floor presence, actively monitoring the dining room and guest experience from arrival through departure.
• Support and guide the host team in real time, ensuring accuracy, professionalism, and alignment with service standards.
• Collaborate closely with Captains to manage pacing, coursing, and guest satisfaction across all sections.
• Serve as a key point of contact for VIPs, members, and repeat guests, ensuring recognition and thoughtful hospitality.
• Address guest concerns with discretion and composure, resolving issues promptly and escalating when appropriate.
• Communicate clearly with FOH leadership, kitchen, bar, and host teams regarding flow, timing, and guest needs.
• Uphold SEIA service language, presentation, and hospitality expectations at all times.
• Support opening and closing procedures and assist FOH leadership as needed during service.
Your Qualifications:
• 3 years+ of experience in a Maître d’, floor management, or senior guest-facing leadership role within fine dining or luxury hospitality environments.
• Strong command of dining room flow, seating strategy, and service pacing.
• Polished communication skills and confident, composed presence on the floor.
• Proven ability to manage guest relationships, including VIP and member engagement.
• Strong situational awareness and attention to detail.
• Ability to lead and support teams calmly during active service.
• Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• A genuine passion for hospitality and guest experience.
