CareOne Pharmacy Services is a Long-Term Care Pharmacy company based out of Deerfield Beach, Florida. Established in 2015, we have been dedicated to providing superior pharmacy services for long-term care facilities. Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a pharmacist located in Deerfield Beach, FL. The Pharmacist will be responsible for dispensing medications, ensuring accurate prescriptions, and providing drug information and consultations to healthcare providers and patients. Day-to-day tasks include verifying and reviewing prescription orders, conducting drug utilization reviews, maintaining accurate patient records, and overseeing the work of pharmacy technicians to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and verify prescriptions and medication orders for accuracy and appropriateness.
  • Process and dispense medications using pharmacy software and automation systems.
  • Provide drug utilization review and monitor for potential drug interactions, allergies, and contraindications.
  • Collaborate with facility nursing staff and physicians to clarify prescriptions and provide therapeutic guidance.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations (e.g., DEA, CMS, Florida Board of Pharmacy).
  • Participate in quality assurance initiatives, audits, and regulatory inspections.
  • Oversee and supervise pharmacy technicians in filling and labeling medications.
  • Maintain proper documentation, labeling, and storage of medications, including controlled substances.
  • Provide on-call consultation support, if required, for LTC facilities.

Qualifications:

  • PharmD or BS in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy.
  • Current and unrestricted pharmacist license in the state of Florida.
  • Previous experience in long-term care, institutional, or closed-door pharmacy is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with LTC pharmacy software (e.g., FrameworkLTC) and electronic MAR systems.
  • Strong knowledge of CMS, DEA, and state LTC pharmacy regulations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with unit-dose packaging systems (e.g., strip packaging, blister cards).
  • Knowledge of formulary management, therapeutic substitution, and cost-containment practices in LTC settings.
