Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A full-time opportunity is available for a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) supporting students from kindergarten through 12th grade. This position involves serving a diverse caseload of mixed ages and populations, providing specialized instruction and support to meet the unique needs of visually impaired students. The role is based in The Villages, FL, and extends for the entire school year on a contract basis, requiring a mitment of 37.5 hours per week.

Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired
• Experience working with K-12 students in educational settings
• Ability to serve a diverse group of students with varying visual impairments
• Strong munication and collaboration skills with families and school staff
• Licensure as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) is a valuable asset but not mandatory

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction tailored to the needs of visually impaired students
• Assess and address individual learning needs and adapt materials accordingly
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and related service providers
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Offer consultative support to staff, students, and families regarding visual impairment strategies and resources
