The Maître D’ is the first and lasting impression of MIKA. As the face of the dining room, this role is responsible for creating a seamless and elevated guest experience through gracious welcomes, expert reservation management, and an exceptional sense of hospitality. The ideal candidate is poised, polished, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced fine dining environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Guest Experience & Service Excellence:

Greet every guest with warmth and professionalism, recognizing regulars and VIPs.

Ensure smooth seating flow and guest satisfaction throughout the shift.

Handle guest requests, complaints, and special accommodations with discretion and efficiency.

Collaborate with management and service team to maintain floor awareness and pacing.

Reservation & Host Management:
-
Manage the reservation book using Resy (or designated platform), optimizing turn times and table allocation.

Lead the host team in executing a flawless door and coat check experience.

Maintain and update guest profiles and preferences for future visits.

Support pre-shift planning, including floor plans, seating strategy, and large party coordination.

Team Leadership & Communication:

Train and coach the host team on etiquette, guest engagement, and service standards.

Communicate with FOH and BOH teams to anticipate and resolve flow or timing challenges.

Liaise with event and private dining contacts as needed for special accommodations.

Presentation & Professionalism:

Uphold a polished and professional appearance at all times.

Maintain the tone and ambiance of the front-of-house area, ensuring it reflects MIKA’s brand of understated luxury.

Qualifications:
-
Minimum 2 years in a Maître D’, Host Manager, or similar guest-facing leadership role in a fine dining environment.

Experience with high-volume reservation platforms (e.g., Resy, SevenRooms, OpenTable).
-
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Poised, calm under pressure, and solutions-oriented.
-
Strong attention to detail, memory for names/faces, and emotional intelligence.

Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Skills:

Working knowledge of Italian or Mediterranean cuisine and wines.

Conversational Spanish or Italian is a plus.

Familiarity with Coral Gables clientele or Miami luxury dining landscape.
