Howard Law is seeking a well-rounded, experienced Litigation Foreclosure Paralegal to support attorneys in all phases of Florida mortgage foreclosure and related real estate litigation. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable independently managing a full caseload from pre-suit through post-judgment.
Compensation:
$50,000 - $60,000 yearly
Responsibilities:
- Manage mortgage foreclosure litigation files from referral through resolution
- Open and maintain files in CaseAware and other case management systems
- Conduct PACER and SCRA searches
- Order and review title commitments
- Draft, review, and e-file pleadings, motions, and legal correspondence
- E-serve pleadings and ensure compliance with Florida court rules and deadlines
- Prepare pleadings, including, but not limited to:
- Mortgage Foreclosure Complaints
- Motions for Default
- Notices of Dropping
- Motions for Summary Judgment
- Other foreclosure-related pleadings
- Coordinate service of process, hearings, mediations, and trials
- Maintain litigation calendars and monitor critical deadlines
- Communicate with clients using Tempo, LPS, and other client systems
- Communicate professionally with courts, opposing counsel, and vendors
- Assist attorneys with discovery, trial preparation, and post-judgment matters
- Maintain accurate electronic files and ensure timely case updates
Qualifications:
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a paralegal in foreclosure and/or civil litigation
- Strong knowledge of Florida mortgage foreclosure procedures and real estate litigation timelines
- Familiarity with Florida state and local court rules
- Experience with e-filing systems and legal case management software
- Experience with Tempo, LPS, CaseAware, and Time Matters is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High level of organization and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Paralegal certificate or equivalent experience preferred
