We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented P&C Adjuster Trainee to join our claims team. This entry-level role provides hands-on training and exposure to the claims process while supporting experienced adjusters and supervisors. The trainee will learn to handle a variety of administrative and technical tasks that contribute to efficient claim resolution and will work toward obtaining an adjuster’s license.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support to claims adjusters and claims supervisors in daily activities.
- Set initial reserves and assist with plan-of-action development under supervision.
- Open, close, and re-open claim files as directed.
- Prepare, handle, and distribute office mail related to claims.
- Take initial loss reports via phone, email, or fax and enter information into the system (One Entry).
- Assist in claim processing, ensuring workflow and performance measures are met.
- Index bodily injury claims in ISO and request police reports as needed.
- Prepare, copy, and mail defense referrals; gather information for MSA referrals as requested.
- Pay expense bills as instructed by adjusters or supervisors.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with company standards.
- Demonstrate a positive, professional attitude while supporting team members.
- Work toward obtaining and maintaining required adjuster licensing
Skills, knowledge & expertise
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to learn quickly and work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with claims systems a plus.
- Willingness to pursue and obtain adjuster license within designated timeframe.
