Job Title : Landscaper/Maintenance Worker

Duration : 3 months of contract with possible extension or conversion

Location : Miami, FL 33169

Hours: 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM (M-F)

Position Description:

Performs a variety of unskilled or semi-skilled maintenance work for the Streets and Landscaping divisions of Public Works. Tasks include but are not limited to keeping city maintained landscape free of debris and litter. Assist with material pickup and delivery, as needed. Aid various work crews on site.

Skills Required:

Knowledge of equipment materials, methods and procedures used in field maintenance work. Requires the ability of speaking and/or signalling people to convey or exchange information. Includes receiving assignments and/or directions from supervisors. Ability to perform manual tasks for extended periods of time; ability to work safely; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other departments, and the public; ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: use hands and fingers; handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, talk and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, climb, or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must possess and maintain, throughout employment, a valid Florida driver's license.

Skills Preferred: Must possess and maintain, throughout employment, a valid Florida driver's license.

Experience Required: Previous field maintenance experience is desired.

Education Required: High School diploma or GED equivalent.
