Job Title: Engineering Technician
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the qualification and verification of inspection tools, conducting measurement system analyses, and ensuring adherence to compliance and quality system standards. This role demands a detail-oriented individual with experience in engineering technology and precision measurement.
Responsibilities
- Execute inspection tool qualifications in accordance with approved protocols and procedures.
- Measure and verify inspection tools against engineering drawings and specifications.
- Confirm tools meet dimensional, functional, and performance requirements prior to release.
- Support re-qualification activities following tool changes, repairs, or significant use.
- Support and execute measurement system analysis (MSA) studies, including data collection and documentation.
- Assist with bias, linearity, and stability evaluations where applicable.
- Ensure measurement data is collected accurately and consistently.
- Partner with Engineering and Quality to resolve measurement system concerns.
- Generate inspection tool qualification reports, including test methods, results, and acceptance criteria.
- Ensure documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with ISO and FDA requirements.
- Maintain inspection tool records per document control procedures.
- Assist with out-of-tolerance investigations related to inspection tools and gauges.
- Support root cause activities by collecting measurement data and performing tool checks.
- Document findings and corrective actions in accordance with procedures.
- Support containment actions when inspection tool issues are identified.
- Perform dimensional inspections using hand tools, fixtures, and custom inspection tools.
- Support verification of tools prior to production release or supplier use.
- Follow proper handling and care of inspection tools to maintain accuracy and repeatability.
- Work directly with the Inspection Tool Design Engineer during tool development and qualification.
- Support Quality Engineering during audits, investigations, and validation activities.
- Assist Manufacturing and Incoming Inspection teams with inspection tool usage and questions.
- Perform all activities in compliance with ISO, FDA 21 CFR 820, and internal procedures.
- Follow established procedures for inspection tool qualification, MSA, and change control.
- Support internal and external audits related to inspection and measurement systems.
Essential Skills
- Associate degree, technical diploma, or equivalent experience in manufacturing, metrology, quality, or engineering technology.
- At least 2 years of experience in inspection, metrology, quality, or manufacturing support in a regulated environment.
- Hands-on experience using precision measurement tools.
- Experience supporting or executing measurement system analysis (MSA) activities.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal communication.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with ISO13485.
- Knowledge of audits and validation processes.
- Proficiency with calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
Work Environment
This position requires working onsite Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM. The work environment is collaborative, with opportunities to engage with cross-functional teams in engineering and quality assurance. You will have access to state-of-the-art equipment and tools to support your role.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Miami, FL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.
