Job Description
The Diver and Lift Technician position is responsible for assisting in the operations of the 70-ton, 150-ton, 320-ton Travelift to haul, block, and launch vessels. This role includes performing dives to properly place and secure straps, confirm block positioning, and conduct visual inspections of the vessel under the waterline.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Adhere to safe diving practices
- Use tools underwater to block vessels
- Provide underwater assistance with proper placement or removal of straps for hauls and launches with the Travelift
- Confirm vessel is centered and all blocks are touching for even keel load spread while preparing to haul vessel using the Syncrolift
- Conduct underwater visual inspections of vessels as needed
- Conduct underwater preventive maintenance on vessels including, but not limited to, unfouling propellers, clearing intakes, and attaching or removing parts
- Utilize non-diving time to assist with yard operations, including assisting with both lift and bottom coating jobs as directed
- Maintain tools and equipment between dives
- Performs all work in accordance with established plans, specifications, schedules, and standards of quality and safety
- Following company, industry, and best practices regarding safety standards (safe equipment usage, personal protective equipment, reporting)

- Valid Driver’s License
- Required licenses or certificates: Diver certification

- Requires the ability to lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 pounds
- Exposure to changes in temperature and humidity
- Work is performed outside in the elements, on and around water
