Job DescriptionDescription:

The Process Engineer will be responsible for supporting the ECG Rockledge, FL facility’s production value stream operations to include manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Maintenance as well as collaborating with ECG’s Product Development Engineering and Customer Care teams. The Process Engineer will assess, evaluate, and provide recommendations for improvements related to the site operations. The work will center on people, processes, and methods to drive higher levels of sustained labor efficiency, improvements in the first pass yield of processes, elimination of variability and hazards in all areas. This individual will use a variety of lean manufacturing tools and concepts including but not limited to 5S, Kaizen, Gemba Walks, fish bone diagrams, and process mapping to gather and analyze data and drive sustained improvements. This person will need to be able to establish strong cross-functional relationships through multiple levels of the organization and in each of the functional departments. This position will demonstrate a passion for the customer (internal and external), demonstrate compliance with all EHS programs, and demonstrate a passion for positive customer and associate experience.


Responsibilities

  • Support the CARE values of the organization.
  • Identify, document, and recommend projects based on real time KPI’s and trends. Provide justification as to a project’s merits based on business impacts vs. monetary and time requirements.
  • Facilitate improvement process through motivating and influencing project teams.
  • Represents and encourages a continuous improvement culture within the site.
  • Train employees on manufacturing processes that are developed for specific departments.
  • Communicates daily feedback and formal project reviews.
  • Communicates effectively and respectfully with all levels of the company.
  • Supports safety by recognizing, adhering to, and including safety standards in process improvement projects.
  • Assist EHS personnel in completing JSA’s.
  • Creates and executes processes to analyze opportunities and strengths of the department and individuals.
  • Recommends modifications/enhancements to processes to improve quality, raw material utilization, efficiency, and/or safety. Once approval is received, develop a time-based action plan to implement.
  • Creates quality parameters within plans/projects to ensure repeatability of the processes. Ensures procedural documents and tools are implemented during process improvement activities.
  • Partners with Quality team to analyze warranty, defect information, and perform root cause analysis.
  • Eliminate re-work, provide cost savings, elimination of non-value-added time/activities with the overall goal to increase revenues and increase customer satisfaction within the site by improving processes throughout the organization.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 4-year college degree from an accredited university in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Black or Green belt certified preferred.
  • 2+ years of leadership experience
  • Must have analytical and results-oriented outlook to ensure performance metrics are used to identify opportunities and track improvement of associates.
  • Ability to lead, teach, negotiate, investigate, resolve issues, recognize opportunities for improvement or change, measure improvement.
  • Proven track record of building influential relationships with internal customers; ability to influence across departmental lines without direct authority.
  • Have experience in the role of mentor or coach.
  • Must have decision making and prioritization skills.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Must have at least intermediate skills in the Microsoft Office Suite of Programs
  • Knowledge of engineering drawings and programs such as AutoCAD
  • Previous experience with ERP systems and implementation into operations
  • Ability to work in a team environment and being able to complete smaller tasks as an individual.
  • Proven ability to utilize time across several overlapping projects/activities.
  • Strong attention to detail

Working Relationship

Communication is required across all levels of the organization- executive team, other functional leaders, subordinates and production floor workers. The process engineer works under the immediate supervision of the General Manager.

PPE

Safety glasses, ear plugs, and safety shoes are required. Other PPE may be required depending on the role.


Safety

This position expects to adhere to all safety rules to include the use of all require protective personal equipment (PPE). Specifically, eye and hearing protection must be worn at all times while in the production floor.

Non-air-conditioned environments; hazardous materials such paints, stains and solvents; machinery, conveyors, spray-booths and drying racks.
