Job Title: Part-Time Weekend Maintenance/Kitchen Worker
Location: Congregation B’nai Israel - St. Petersburg
Reports To: Head of Maintenance
Job Overview:
The Part-Time Weekend Maintenance/Kitchen Worker is responsible for ensuring that the synagogue building and grounds are clean, safe, and well-maintained during weekend hours. This individual will perform a variety of tasks to ensure the facility is in good working order for services, events, and gatherings that take place during the weekend. The role requires attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities:

Cleaning and Sanitation: Clean common areas, restrooms, kitchen, and preschool. Overseeing the kitchen, including cleaning dishes and putting them away. Ensure the synagogue is presentable and welcoming for weekend services and events.

Event Setup: Assist with setting up spaces for weekend services, programs, and events. This includes arranging furniture, setting up AV equipment, and ensuring the space is ready for use.

Security: Ensure the synagogue is secure at the end of the weekend by checking doors and windows, as well as arming the building’s security system. Report any issues or maintenance concerns to the Head of Maintenance and/or Synagogue Administrator.

Collaboration: Communicate with the Head of Maintenance or other staff members to coordinate special requests or report any significant issues that require attention during the weekend.
Qualifications:

Experience in general maintenance, custodial work, or a related field.

Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, and building repairs.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to lift and carry heavy objects and perform physical tasks.

Excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic.

Familiarity with synagogue or religious institution environments is a plus, but not required.
Schedule:
-
Hours: Fridays from 5:00PM-9:00PM, Saturdays from 8:30AM-1:30PM, Sundays from 9:00AM-1:00PM.

Occasional flexibility for special events or additional hours as needed.
Compensation:
-
$14/hour
