We are looking for a skilled Paralegal to join our team in Miami, Florida, on a Contract basis to assist with a Trial. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in civil and criminal litigation, trial preparation, and legal support. This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual who can manage cases independently, handle discovery processes, and assist attorneys during trials, including travel when necessary.
Responsibilities:
• Manage case files from initiation to resolution, ensuring all legal procedures are followed.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Execute e-filing processes and maintain organized documentation.
• Support attorneys during trials by preparing exhibits, coordinating logistics, and traveling as needed.
• Conduct thorough discovery processes, including document review and data organization.
• Track billable hours and ensure compliance with annual targets.
• Utilize case management software to maintain schedules, deadlines, and client information.
• Create high-quality presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint to support legal arguments.
• Collaborate effectively with attorneys and other staff to meet case objectives.
• Stay updated on legal practices and tools such as Relativity for document management.
• Proven experience in civil and criminal litigation, including trial preparation and attendance.
• Proficiency in drafting legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery materials.
• Strong command of e-filing processes and case management software.
• Ability to work independently and manage cases from start to finish without supervision.
• Willingness to travel within the state and nationwide for trial support.
• Expertise in Microsoft PowerPoint for creating well-structured presentations.
• Knowledge of Relativity is a MUST and other legal technology tools.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills to ensure effective case management.
